Bold and evocative, Judy is distinguished for designs that – as observed by Vogue – seem to transcend the realm of fashion and approach a ‘Romantic Art’ instead. And, having begun her career under the auspices of Alexander McQueen, it’s impossible not to notice a shared sensibility for drama and theatrics.
Today, Judy has been recognised for her modern and innovative use of heritage materials – from Harris tweeds and Scottish lace to antique fabrics. It’s an approach to tailoring that consciously blends a timeless aesthetic with a pioneering outlook.
For the G&V, Judy worked in close collaboration with a host of local partners and suppliers, such as Dashing Tweeds and Howie Nicholsby (the luxury kilt designer), to create a signature G&V Tweed. The result is a striking fusion of traditional details and vibrant, modern accents that feels as authentic to a city steeped in a rich cultural heritage as to a hotel with a bold, contemporary character.
