Quorvus meets Christine Clark

Curated By Quorvus Collection

Moments, events, ideas… places, sensations, details… At the heart of Quorvus Collection is deep appreciation for the creative culture that abounds in each of our locations.

Through a series of exclusive new partnerships and collaborations, we’re bringing this creative culture to life, working with local artists and designers, gallerists and festival organisers – and a host of creative institutions – to celebrate the distinctive character of local culture.

The first in our series begins in Edinburgh, with the re-design of the suites at G&V Royal Mile Hotel. This is a hotel of remarkable colour and character – taken to the next level by some of Scotland’s most renowned interior designers, visual artists and fashion designers.

The first is the Timorous Beasties Suite created by the eponymous Glasgow-based design duo; a riot of colour – it bears all the hallmarks of the designers’ unique, irreverent and hypnotic use of pattern.

Striking a serene but equally vibrant tone is the Rooftop Rest suite envisioned by Edinburgh artist Christine Clark. Bespoke pieces mingle with restored antiquities in this captivating space, at one in the hotel’s original sixteenth century wing.
We also invited Christine’s sister, Judy R Clark, to style G&V’s Nomad and Regal Studio Suites. A fashion designer by trade – Judy’s spaces relish in rich fabrics and textural detail, celebrating a confluence of aesthetic styles, from Byzantine to Persian.

With an altogether more pared back design is the Jim Hamilton suite – boasting spectacular views over George IV Bridge. Subtle greys and off-white tones provide the backdrop to iconic design pieces from Jaime Hayon, Arne Jacobsen and George Nelson. The suite boasts a luxurious circular recliner and its own movie projector.
Finally, discover the Garden Paradise suite – a ‘party room’ in which Hatti Pattisson’s psychedelic florals dance across the custom-printed furniture and cushions – painting the room in a rich and seductive palette.
